CONSTRUCTION
This A. Fuente Hemingway Short Story had an amazingly detailed and vivid Cameroon wrapper. The perfecto shape is remarkable, especially while understanding the craft of cigar rolling in such a unique form. The cap end is “normal” while the foot end expands into a bulge. Very interesting. This particular cigar had some notches where the edge of the leaf was exposed, along with some pectin smudges to hold the wrapper together.
SMOKING CHARACTERISTICS
This was maybe the third or fourth Short Story I’ve had over time, and it never fails to impress. Though the cigar is somewhat a rare shape, the performance was flawless. Once I lit the nipple, the cigar burned evenly and slowly, leaving a brilliant white, flaky ash. The smoke was thick and white also.
FLAVORS
I love how balanced this cigar is with its flavor profile. Consistently throughout I taste both sweet natural tobaccos and a bit of a grass component, or maybe even hay. Complimenting the flavors from the tobacco is the awesomely thick mouth-coating amounts of smoke you can play with. Again, balance of sweet and earthy flavors dominates this medium bodied smoke. I don’t like to go into extreme detail with my reviews, especially regarding flavor profile because we all taste different things!
OVERALL
Definitely a cigar to have in the humidor at the ready. The A. Fuente Hemingway Short Story cigars make relatively quick smokes, and are great as gifts for special occasions. Thanks to Cigarsdirect.com for the chance to review this!
